Provision of Care, Treatment, and Services (PC) Standards

PC.02.01.01 The practice provides care, treatment, and services for each patient.
- EP10 Identifying patients for blood or blood component transfusion
PC.03.01.01 The practice plans operative or other high-risk procedures, including those that require the administration of moderate or deep sedation or anesthesia.
PC.03.01.03 The practice provides the patient with care before initiating operative or other high-risk procedures, including those that require the administration of moderate or deep sedation or anesthesia.
PC.03.01.05 The practice monitors the patient during operative or other high-risk procedures and/or during the administration of moderate or deep sedation or anesthesia.
- EP1 Intraoperative monitoring
PC.03.01.07 The practice provides care to the patient after operative or other high-risk procedures and/or the administration of moderate or deep sedation or anesthesia.

Element of Performance

Provide the patient with preprocedural education according to his or her plan of care before operative or other high-risk procedures are initiated, or before moderate or deep sedation or anesthesia is administered.
